Overcast skies, falling pressure, and light wind are the combination largemouth want, and 80°F water keeps them feeding well. Expect the morning rain to stain the shallows, so fish the afternoon and let the lake settle. Bass here must be released immediately, so keep the fight short and the fish in the water.
Falling pressure and overcast skies today give the best bass window of the week. A dry front arrives Thursday, and the steady pressure and clearer skies through the weekend mean a slower bite, so downsize and slow down. Rising pressure on Sunday and Monday will be a tougher stretch, with a possible bump Tuesday as pressure falls ahead of the next trough.
Plantation Heritage Park is a Broward County park whose lake is managed by the state as a Fish Management Area. It's a small, quiet lake with good bass fishing, stocked catfish and plenty of bream, which makes it one of the best family spots in central Broward. There are no peacock bass here.

A public county park. On weekends and holidays the gate fee is $3 per vehicle (up to eight people); walking or cycling in is free. Fishing is from the shore only, not from the park's rental boats. Fishing days, hours and any quotas are posted at the main entrance, so check them when you arrive.
For bass, soft plastics worked slowly along the edges and any cover, and a topwater early and late. For catfish, cut bait or prepared baits on the bottom. For bream, small hooks with worms or crickets under a float.
Bass are most active early in the morning and late in the day, and the bite often picks up when barometric pressure falls ahead of a front. Catfish bite well in the evening.
A Florida freshwater fishing licence is required for anglers 16 and over. As a Fish Management Area the lake has its own rules: all black bass must be released immediately; the channel catfish limit is 6; the panfish limit is 20, and bluegill and redear under 8 inches must be released. Confirm current rules with FWC and the signs at the park entrance.
